format

You will introduce yourself into the microphone on stage in front of the audience. You will wear a professional outfit of your choosing. There is no admission charge for audience members attending personal introduction.

You will walk out onto the stage; the current state queen will then hand you the microphone, and you will introduce yourself to the judges and the audience.

 
When you are finished with your introduction, you will hand the microphone back to the state queen and then exit the stage.

ATTIRE RULES

PRINCESS, JR. PRE-TEEN, PRE-TEEN

  • You will wear this outfit for the personal introduction
    competition and the interview competition

  • Pick an outfit you would wear to a professional job
    interview

  • No noticeable make-up

  • No hats, gloves, or purses

  • Shoes should be small heels or flats that compliment your outfit and are age appropriate

  • Jewelry, if worn, should be age appropriate

JR. TEEN & TEEN

  • You will wear this outfit for the personal introduction
    competition and the interview competition

  • Pick an outfit you would wear to a professional job
    interview

  • No hats, gloves, or purses

  • Shoes should compliment your outfit and be age appropriate

  • Jewelry, if worn, should be age appropriate

RULES

3 things you must say

  • Name

  • Hometown

  • Something interesting about yourself

Your personal introduction must be memorized. In addition to the three required things you must say, you can add whatever information you would like in your presentation. However, there is a TIME LIMIT OF 30 seconds of less!
 

If you only want to say the 3 required elements that is A-OK! If you add more, your presentation must be 30 second or less!


No visible makeup is allowed on the Princess, Jr. Pre-Teen and Pre-Teen age divisions. Jr. Teen and Teens are allowed to wear appropriate makeup.

rehearsal

During pageant weekend each state finalist will attend a rehearsal so they may practice speaking into a microphone.

You bring

  • Personal Introduction/Interview outfit

  • Complimenting shoes

  • Complimenting jewelry (if applicable)

scoring

  • Scoring is based on finalists' ability to clearly,
    confidently and effectively deliver their message to
    the judges and audience.

  • Following attire rules, as well as presentation rules
    will be a factor.

  • Judges are looking for a representative who
    naturally conveys her unique personality through
    engaging public speaking skills and stage presence.
