BEFORE PAGEANT FAQs

CRASH COURSE

The Crash Couse is an optional practice event with the pageant staff. It will take place on day 1 of your pageant. This is your chance to practice with the choreographers, ask questions, and get inside tips! 

The cost of the Crash Course Workshop is $25. We offer this workshop to contestants so they will feel prepared and have another opportunity to practice on stage. The teachers of the Crash Course have competed and/or judged at the local, state, and national levels! These coaches pride themselves on connecting with each contestant along with helping her feel “ready” for the exciting weekend ahead!

While the skills learned at the Crash Course Workshop will help you excel at pageant events overall, emphasis is placed on posture, good grooming, etiquette, stage presence, dressing for success, and much more! By participating, the techniques you will learn in the Crash Course will benefit you throughout your life, no matter what career path you choose. In short, our Crash Course offers more than just “pageant” advice. We teach young ladies lessons they will carry with them every day!

*The Get Acquainted Party will follow the Crash Course Workshop and is FREE to attend!

PAGEANT PHOTOGRAPHER

The pageant will be recorded by a professional videography company.  You can visit their website www.iamvideomemories.com for video package details & to order online. 

TICKETS

Tickets are only needed for the pageant finale.  All the other events are free for the audience to attend. The most common question we get about tickets is in reference to escorts. Remember, we do not use escorts during the pageant finale. So if you escort from the night before will be attending the finale, they will need a ticket too. FLOWERS

We will have flowers for sale on pageant weekend on a first-come-first-served basis.  They can be presented to her on stage by her escort during the formal wear event.  We will have bouquets of 3 roses for sale for $20 and boutonniere for the escorts for $10.  You will be able to add them to your account and pay for them at pageant check-in.

Get Acquainted PartY

The Get Acquainted Party will be held on day one of your pageant weekend.  This is a free event.  The party theme is PJ. 

Spirit oF PAGEANTRY

Every contestant can earn this award! The Official “Spirit of Pageantry” Award recognizes each of the State Finalists who become involved in a variety of activities at the State Pageant. This is our way of saying, “We are proud of you! It’s great to try new things!”
The more Optional Contests you enter, the more chances you have of earning the “Spirit of Pageantry” Award! Each optional contest entry earns you one point, once you get to FIVE points, you will automatically earn the Spirt of Pageantry Award.  You will be presented their award LIVE on stage at the conclusion of the formal wear event for your age divisions.  Click HERE for more info.

PORTFOLIO AWARD

Enter four photos and automatically receive this awesome award. In the modeling industry, a modeling portfolio consists of about four photos. So, by submitting four photos into this contest, you technically have a modeling portfolio and we want to award and recognize you for this by presenting you with this award!  You pre-pay for Photogenic HERE or add them to your account at pageant check-in.

In the back of your State Guidebook is a packing list.  If you need a new copy, you can download it HERE.

WALKING PATTERNS

The walking pattern for any Optional or Required events that have a specific walking pattern, can be found in the State Guidebook.  If you need a new copy, you can download it HERE.

TIME LIMITS

Some events have a time limit. Here is just a quick reminder of those events and their time limit.
Talent:  2 mins
Spokesmodel:  1 min 30 secs
Personal Introduction:  30 secs
